On Saturday, July 11, Hearts for Elders volunteers returned to Affectionate Care of Assisted Living for a five-hour visit.
We sang, danced, played basketball, and made crafts with the residents. This time, six residents also sat down with us to share the stories of their lives, and we got to simply listen.
We asked meaningful questions like "Who was your first love?" and "What's one piece of advice you'd like to give to the next generation?" Residents also shared their greatest accomplishments and stories about their children. Their answers were funny, heartfelt, and full of wisdom we won't forget.
