June 13 Volunteering at Affectionate Care

On Saturday, June 13, Hearts for Elders volunteers spent four hours with the residents of Affectionate Care of Assisted Living. It was one of our longest visits yet, and the energy stayed high the whole afternoon.

We sang, danced, shot some basketball, and made crafts together. One highlight was volunteer Pann Liu playing the piano for everyone, which filled the room with music and smiles.

Some residents jumped right in on the dance floor, while others cheered from their seats or worked side by side with volunteers on their crafts. By the end of the day, it felt less like a volunteer visit and more like spending time with family.

Thank you to the Affectionate Care staff for having us and to every volunteer who came out. Want to join the next visit? Keep in contact with our newsletter, and join our Remind @hfe2026.
